Singer/ Songwriter

George V. Nostrand, (known as G.V. in his youth, and later dubbed George, by George!) has been crafting his unique sound for years. Drawing on influences here in his home state of Vermont as well as his travels all across the country and beyond, he stirs a range of traditional influences into his love of rock and jam music and adds a heavy dose of humor to season and spice things up.

What's in George's Back Pocket? Good question....

The idea behind George's Back Pocket was to reduce George's "Obnoxiously Large Band" to a reasonable size. After three ba-zillion people playing at his CD release party, George brought not one, but two bands with with him to his next gig...Conspiring to reign in George, band mates Mitch Terricciano and Marcos Levy attempted to create a "Power Trio" with Mitch on drums, Marcos on bass, and George on guitar and vocals...Since the first official George's Back Pocket gig, George has struggeld with the concept that a trio has only three people in it. Instead he has taken the concept of having a back pocket, and routinely tries to stuff more musicains in it. The band has actually featured a rotating list of talented musicians in different line-ups and thus the statement - You never know who's going to be in George's Back Pocket....(See below for the complete Back Pocket Line-Up)

The Music

Having an ever changing band keeps the music alive and interesting. The songs continue to evolve and take on new shapes and sounds. Don't be mistaken by thinking this is just a loosely thrown together garage band or something. George prides himself on surrounding himself with top notch musicians and he even makes them practice (occassionally).

George's Back Pocket has featured the following artists in recent years:

Who is in George's Back Pocket? Well, that depends... Well, it is literally different all the time, thus the phrase above is also commonly uttered as, "Who is in George's back Pocket this week?"
